Printing

Printer setup

Choose the paper for labels and invoices, and connect a thermal printer to the app.

Paper and labels for your shop

These settings are for everyone in the shop, on the web and in the app's print dialog. Changing them needs the Owner or Manager role.

On the web, open Settings and choose the Printing tab.

Pick the Packing label paper and the Invoice paper. You can still choose other paper each time you print.

Turn Show items on labels off if you'd rather not list what's in the parcel.

Enter a Sender phone on labels, or leave it empty to use your shop page phone. Click Save printing.

A printer for the app

The app prints in one of two ways. The choice is saved on each phone.

  • Print dialog (the default): AirPrint on iPhone, the print services on Android, Wi-Fi printers, or Save as PDF. It uses your shop's paper sizes.
  • Thermal printer: prints straight to a Bluetooth or Wi-Fi receipt printer, one label at a time.

Open More → Settings → Printer and choose Thermal printer.

Choose the Paper width: 58 mm or 80 mm, the same as the roll in your printer.

Turn the printer on and keep it close. Tap Find printers, allow Bluetooth if asked, and tap your printer. For a Wi-Fi printer you can also tap Add Wi-Fi printer and enter its IP address (the port is usually 9100).

Tap Test print. The page has English and Myanmar text and a QR code.

iPhone and iPad

Only Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and Wi-Fi printers work on iPhone and iPad. Many low-cost printers use classic Bluetooth only. Those work from an Android phone, or print through the print dialog.

Labels and receipts are sent to the printer as pictures, so Myanmar names and addresses print correctly on any thermal printer.

If it doesn't print

  • No printers found: check the printer is on, charged and not connected to another phone. On Android, allow FOM to find nearby devices in the phone's settings.
  • Couldn't reach the printer: turn it off and on, keep it close, and tap Test print again. A Wi-Fi printer must be on the same network as the phone.
  • The print is cut off or too small: check the Paper width matches the roll.
  • A 100 × 150 mm label printer: most don't take receipt-printer commands. Print through the Print dialog instead.
